What Web Development includes
Marketing websites

APIs and integrations
REST and GraphQL APIs, third-party integrations for payments, email and maps, and documented contracts your other systems can consume.
Database design
Data modelling and migrations on PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Firebase, chosen for the shape of your data rather than habit.

Docker-based deployment, automated release pipelines, monitoring, dependency and security updates, and a continuing change backlog after launch.
What is the difference between a marketing website and a web application?
A marketing website exists to explain and sell; a web application exists to do work. A marketing site is mostly content — pages, case studies, service descriptions, enquiry forms — and its success is measured in search visibility, loading speed and enquiries. A web application holds accounts, data and business logic: bookings, patient records, property listings, course enrolments, dashboards that staff log into daily. The engineering differs accordingly. Marketing sites lean on static or server-rendered pages, structured data and tight performance budgets, because a page nobody can find or wait for has no value. Applications need authentication, roles and permissions, a well-modelled database, API design and a testing strategy, because incorrect data costs more than a slow page. Most projects we take on are a mix: a public Next.js site that ranks, with an authenticated application behind it sharing the same codebase, design system and deployment pipeline.
Which technologies does TechWebster use to build a web application?
We build on a React and Next.js front end with TypeScript throughout, styled with Tailwind CSS, and a Node.js or Python back end. Next.js gives us server rendering and static generation, which matters for pages that need to be indexed, plus route-level code splitting for pages that need to be fast. On the server we expose either a REST API or a GraphQL schema: REST where the client needs are simple and cacheable, GraphQL where a dashboard pulls related data from several sources in one request. Data sits in PostgreSQL when the model is relational and transactional, MongoDB when documents vary in shape, and Firebase when a project benefits from managed authentication and a realtime database without running servers. Realtime features — live order status, booking availability, chat, notifications — use WebSockets or Firebase subscriptions rather than polling. Everything ships in Docker containers so the environment you test on matches the environment that runs in production.
How do you make a custom website fast and visible in search?
Performance and search visibility are build decisions, not a later clean-up, so we design for Core Web Vitals from the first commit. Largest Contentful Paint is protected by server rendering the content that matters, serving images in modern formats at the right dimensions, and keeping fonts and third-party scripts under control. Cumulative Layout Shift is avoided by reserving space for media and deferred elements. Interaction to Next Paint is kept down by shipping less JavaScript to the browser and moving work to the server where it belongs. Technical SEO is part of the same work: semantic headings, descriptive titles and meta descriptions, canonical URLs, generated sitemaps, structured data, and internal links that make the site's shape obvious to crawlers. Accessibility runs alongside it — keyboard navigation, visible focus states, sensible colour contrast, labelled form fields and correct ARIA where native elements fall short. The same markup discipline serves screen readers and search engines.
What does the web development process look like from start to launch?
It runs in a fixed sequence, and each stage produces something you can read before the next one starts. Discovery establishes what the business does, who uses the product and what counts as success. Requirements turn that into a written scope: pages, user roles, integrations and the things explicitly out of scope. Architecture settles the stack, data model, API shape and hosting before any interface is drawn, because changing a database schema later is expensive. Design covers layout, component library and responsive behaviour, reviewed against the content you actually have. Build proceeds in short increments on a shared Git repository, with working previews rather than status reports. Testing covers functionality, cross-browser and device checks, form and payment paths, accessibility and performance. Deployment uses Docker images and an automated pipeline so releases are repeatable. After launch we handle bug fixes, dependency and security updates, monitoring and the next round of changes under an agreed support arrangement.
Which industries does TechWebster build websites and web applications for?
We work most often with healthcare, restaurants and food delivery, hotels and hospitality, real estate, education and training, and media and photography. Each brings a different core problem. Healthcare work centres on appointment booking, clinician and patient records, and careful handling of sensitive data. Restaurants need menu management, online ordering and live order status. Hotels and hospitality need availability calendars, room inventory and booking flows that do not double-sell. Real estate needs property listings with structured search, image-heavy galleries that still load quickly, and enquiry routing to the right agent. Education and training needs course catalogues, enrolment, student progress and content delivery. Media and photography needs portfolios where large images are the product, so image pipelines and loading strategy do most of the work. We are a small team in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, working with clients across India, the UAE, the USA and Canada, so remote delivery and written handover are normal practice.
Web Development questions
How long does a custom website take to build?
It depends on how much of it is content and how much is application. A marketing site with a settled page structure moves quickly; a product with user accounts, roles, integrations and a data model takes considerably longer. We do not quote a duration before requirements are written, because the honest answer changes once scope is on paper. After discovery and requirements you receive a scope document with a stage-by-stage schedule and the dependencies that could move it.
How much does custom web development cost?
Cost follows scope: the number of distinct page templates, whether users log in, how many user roles exist, which third-party systems must be integrated, and how much content work falls to us. A marketing site and an enterprise dashboard are not comparable pieces of work. We price against the written scope produced during requirements, and we separate the build from ongoing support so you can see what each commitment covers.
Should I choose a custom build or a website template?
A template is reasonable when your needs are close to what the template already does and you are willing to live with its structure. A custom build makes sense when you need specific workflows, a data model of your own, integrations with existing systems, control over performance, or a design that is not shared with other businesses. Templates also tend to accumulate plugins, and plugins are where performance and security problems usually enter.
Will I own the source code?
Yes. The code is yours, held in a Git repository you have access to from the start of the build rather than handed over at the end. That includes the application source, infrastructure and Docker configuration, database migrations and deployment documentation. You can take the repository to another team at any point. We would rather earn continued work than rely on holding the code.
Can you take over or rebuild an existing website?
Yes. We begin with an audit of the current codebase, data, hosting and traffic, then propose either incremental improvement or a rebuild, depending on which is less wasteful. Where a rebuild is the right call, we preserve URLs and redirects so existing search rankings are not lost, migrate content and data deliberately, and run the old and new systems side by side until the new one is proven.
Do you work with clients outside India?
Yes. We are based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and work with clients in India, the UAE, the USA and Canada. Delivery is remote and written: a documented scope, a shared repository, working preview environments at each stage, and release notes on deployment. Calls are scheduled to suit your time zone and the decisions that need making are kept in writing so nothing depends on recall.
